The puncture needles used by modern doctors have evolved from intravenous infusion needles and injection needles.

The development of infusion needles can be traced back to 1656, when British doctors Christopher and Robert used feather tubes as needles to inject drugs into a dog's vein, becoming the first intravenous injection experiment in history.

In 1662, a German doctor named John first applied an intravenous injection needle to the human body. Although the patient was unable to survive due to infection, it was a milestone in medical history.

In 1832, Scottish doctor Thomas successfully introduced salt substances into the human body, becoming the first successful case of intravenous infusion and laying the foundation for intravenous infusion treatment.

In the 20th century, with the advancement of metal processing technology and medicine, intravenous infusion and its theory have rapidly developed, and various needle types for different applications have rapidly emerged. The puncture needle is just one small branch. Even so, there are dozens of different types, with complex structures such as trocar puncture needles and precise and small cell puncture needles.

Modern puncture needle heads generally use SUS304/316L medical stainless steel.
